Kollam: Reports indicate that Dr. Maya Sreekutty, the doctor who was with driver Ajmal in the Mynagappally accident on Sunday evening, is likely to be charged as co-accused. Kunjimol(47), wife of Noushad of Mynagappally, was killed in the accident as Ajmal drove the car over her body. 

It is believed that Dr. Sreekutty was under the influence of alcohol and had urged Ajmal to flee the scene of the accident. According to police, Ajmal has stated during interrogation that both he and Dr. Sreekutty were under the influence of alcohol. Both are currently in police custody.

The accident occurred around 5:30 pm. on Sunday at Aanurkavu, near Mynagappally. Witnesses report that the speeding car collided with a woman riding a scooter. The woman fell from the scooter, and Ajmal drove the car over Kunjimol (47), as if driving over a hump on the road. Despite cries from those at the scene to stop and help Kunjimol, Ajmal continued to drive over her in an attempt to flee. Kunjimol was seriously injured and rushed to a private hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 9:45 p.m. Her sister, Fauzia, was also injured in the accident. The sisters were returning home after shopping at a nearby store.

Kunjimol ran a stationary shop near her home with her husband, Noushad. According to police, Ajmal has a history of criminal activity, including drug peddling. Dr. Maya Sreekkutty works at a private hospital in Karunagappally.
