Kollam: Dr. Sreekutty, co-accused in the Mynagappally accident that resulted in the death of a 47-year-old woman, has made incriminating statements against Ajmal, the prime accused who drove the car that hit the unfortunate scooter rider, Kunjumol. In her deposition to the police during the interrogation, Dr. Sreekutty denied allegations that she had asked Ajmal to run over Kunjumol, who fell from her scooter during the incident. She also stated that Ajmal had forcibly made her drink alcohol.
In a surprising turn of events, Sreekutty claimed that Ajmal had taken her gold ornaments and Rs. 20 lakhs. According to her statement, she stayed on with Ajmal to retrieve her money and jewelry. She insisted that she had no knowledge of Kunjimol being trapped under the car during the accident. Sreekutty alleged that it was Ajmal’s scheme to spread rumors that she had prompted him to drive over Kunjumol.
Sreekutty accused Ajmal of stealing Rs. 20 lakhs and her gold ornaments over the past six months, stating that it was to reclaim these items that she continued her relationship with him. During this time, she claimed that Ajmal forced her to drink alcohol and encouraged her to use drugs. She reiterated that she had no involvement in the accident. On September 15, the day of the incident, she alleged that Ajmal compelled her to drink alcohol at a friend's house.
The police interrogated both Ajmal and Dr. Sreekutty in custody for two days regarding the Mynagappally accident. The questioning will continue on Saturday under the supervision of the Sasthamkotta DySP. Although police took them to the accident scene to gather evidence, they could not get them out of the vehicle due to public outrage. Authorities also collected evidence from the hotel room where Ajmal and Sreekutty stayed, recovering liquor bottles and a special tube used for taking drugs.
