Kollam: In the brutal hit and run incident in Kollam’s Mynagappally, main accused Ajmal and his friend and co accused Dr Sreekutty were arrested by the Sasthamcotta Police. A case has been registered against the female doctor on charges of incitement. Both Ajmal, a resident of Veluthamanal in Karunagappally, and Dr Sreekutty (27), a resident of Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram, will also be produced at the magistrate's residence in the evening. Both are currently in Sasthamcotta Police Station.

The police have registered a case of intentional homicide against Ajmal, who was driving the car. It was also found that he was drunk. Ajmal, who has a criminal background, is accused in five cases earlier. He is accused in sandalwood smuggling and fraud cases.

Eyewitnesses had testified that it was Sreekutty who asked Ajmal to move the car forward after hitting the scooter passenger. On the basis of these statements, the police registered a case against the female doctor on charges of incitement. The police also collected the doctor's blood sample for testing. After being involved in the incident, Sreekutty was dismissed from the private hospital in Karunagappally where he worked.

The tragic incident took place around 5.30 pm on Thiruvonam day at Aanurkavu in Mynagappally. The speeding car hit two sisters going on a scooter. After that, the car ran over the body of one of them who fell on the road.

Kunjumol (47) was killed in the tragic incident at Panjipullumvila. Kunjumol died around 10.30 pm while undergoing treatment at the hospital. His sister Fauzia (30), who was with Kunjumol, was also injured in the accident.

Kunjumole and his sister were hit by a speeding car coming from the Karunagappally direction while returning on a scooter after buying provisions from a shop. Due to the impact of the hit, Kunjumol first fell on top of the car and then on the road, and then the car ran over her chest. The car continued to move forward and kept going even though the bystanders told them not to move forward. She was taken to the hospital and given emergency treatment, but Kunjumol's life could not be saved. Kunjumol runs a stationery shop near her home with her husband Naushad.

After the incident, he stopped the car at Karunagappally court corner and escaped. Ajmal, who was on the run, was caught by the police from his friend's house within hours. It is reported that their car hit some other vehicles while escaping.
