Official notification issued by NTA
In its official statement, the NTA said: “The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026.”
The agency also urged candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for updates related to the examination process.
NEET UG 2026 was originally conducted on May 3 but was later cancelled after allegations of a question paper leak surfaced from multiple states.
The controversy led to widespread protests from students and parents demanding a fair and transparent re-examination process.
The matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has already arrested several accused individuals linked to the alleged leak network.
High-level meetings held before announcement
The re-exam date announcement comes shortly after a high-level meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Education, NTA, CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) attended discussions regarding the conduct of the re-exam and security measures.
Officials had earlier stated that the government’s priority was to conduct the examination in a “safe, transparent and credible manner.”
NTA has requested students and parents not to rely on rumours or unofficial social media claims regarding the examination.
Candidates can contact NTA through its official helpline numbers and email support for further clarification related to NEET UG 2026.
The agency is expected to release additional details regarding admit cards, examination centres and revised guidelines in the coming days.
