A woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a private bus in Delhi’s Nangloi area, with police arresting two accused and launching a detailed investigation into the incident.

New Delhi: A shocking incident has emerged from West Delhi, where a woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a private bus in the Nangloi area. Delhi Police confirmed on Thursday that two accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
The alleged incident has triggered fresh concerns over women’s safety in the national capital.

According to police officials, the investigation began after the woman approached authorities and lodged a formal complaint regarding the assault.
Following the complaint, police teams launched an operation and quickly detained two suspects linked to the case. The private bus allegedly used during the incident has also been seized as part of the investigation.

Officials stated that investigators are examining the case from every possible angle and collecting evidence related to the incident. Police have not yet released additional details regarding the sequence of events, the identities of the accused or the circumstances under which the woman boarded the bus.

The case has once again drawn attention to long-standing concerns over women’s safety in Delhi, particularly incidents involving private buses and isolated public transport spaces.
The incident has also reminded many of the 2012 Nirbhaya case, which had sparked nationwide protests and major discussions around women’s safety laws and policing reforms in India.
Delhi Police confirmed that the bus connected to the alleged crime has been taken into custody for examination. Authorities are expected to review CCTV footage, route details and other evidence as part of the probe.
