The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to organise a National Round Table Conference involving State Election Commissioners (SECs) in New Delhi.

The conference will be chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and will bring together SECs, legal and technical experts, and Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from all states and Union Territories.

According to the ECI, the objective of the conference is to enhance coordination between the central and state election authorities while strengthening electoral processes within their respective legal frameworks.

During the day-long meeting, officials will focus on sharing technological advancements, improving electoral roll management, and discussing Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) systems.

Senior ECI officials will also present updates on key operational initiatives, including the ECINET digital platform, which is designed to improve election administration efficiency.

The presentations will emphasise the transparency, reliability, and security measures implemented in EVM technology.

The conference is particularly significant as it is being held after a gap of 27 years. The last such national round table conference between the ECI and state election authorities was conducted in 1999.

Meanwhile, ECI officials are also planning a separate review visit to Kerala to assess election preparedness ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

Kerala’s Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U Kelkar stated that the visiting team will examine multi-level administrative readiness and interact with senior state officials.

The final electoral roll for Kerala Assembly elections, containing approximately 2.69 crore voters, has already been published. Citizens can access the voter list through the official Chief Electoral Officer website.

Officials also reminded applicants that those whose requests for inclusion in the electoral roll were rejected can appeal to the District Election Officer within 15 days, and further approach the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days if necessary.

The ECI continues efforts to modernise election management through technology integration, transparency measures, and improved voter accessibility.
