Kerala`s final voter list for Assembly elections is out. Nearly 9 lakh names removed

Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Kerala’s electoral roll has been completed, with the Election Commission publishing the final voter list on Saturday.
According to the updated electoral roll, Kerala now has 2,69,53,644 registered voters across its 140 Assembly constituencies. A total of 9,06,211 names have been removed from the final list following the revision process.
Voters can verify their details through the Election Commission’s official portal, electoralsearch.eci.gov.in, using their voter ID number, relative’s name, registered mobile number, date of birth or age.
During the SIR process, 24.08 lakh names were excluded in the draft electoral roll released on Dec 23. Following objections and hearings, an additional 53,229 names were removed. However, 15,11,292 new voters were added to the final list after verification.
For comparison, Kerala had 2,77,49,159 electors during the last Lok Sabha elections, indicating a net decline in the total number of registered voters after the latest electoral roll revision.
