Akasa Air has inducted its 33rd aircraft into its fleet with the arrival of a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Tuesday, February 4. The aircraft, registered as VT-YBM, marks another milestone in the airline’s rapid and disciplined expansion journey.
With the latest induction, Akasa Air now operates 33 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, strengthening its operational capacity and network reach.

The aircraft was delivered from Boeing’s facilities in Seattle, United States. The ferry flight included multiple sectors, beginning with Seattle to Keflavik in Iceland, followed by onward legs before the final segment from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Bengaluru.

This is Akasa Air’s second aircraft induction since January 2026, underlining the airline’s steady and well-paced fleet growth strategy.
The newly inducted Boeing 737 MAX aircraft has been built to Akasa Air’s specifications and features Safran Z200 seats, offering improved recline, ergonomic back support, enhanced cushioning, and integrated USB-A and USB-C charging ports. These features are designed to improve passenger comfort while supporting operational efficiency and sustainability.
The aircraft is powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines, which offer better fuel efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and reduced noise levels, supporting Akasa Air’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
Since commencing operations in August 2022, Akasa Air has followed a phased and disciplined fleet expansion strategy. The airline operates an all-Boeing 737 MAX fleet and has placed a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 193 aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next six years to meet India’s rapidly growing air travel demand.

Akasa Air currently connects 26 domestic and six international destinations. Its domestic network includes Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Pune, Lucknow, Guwahati, Srinagar, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Kozhikode, Navi Mumbai, and Dibrugarh.
International destinations include Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, and Phuket, supporting both leisure and business travel demand.
Since its launch, Akasa Air has carried over 24 million passengers and continues to focus on long-term growth, operational reliability, and affordable air travel.
