Dublin: Amid a concerning rise in physical assaults targeting Indian nationals in Ireland, the Indian Embassy in Dublin has confirmed it is actively engaging with Irish authorities over the issue.

In a statement, the embassy noted, “There has been an increase in the instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently. The embassy is in touch with the concerned authorities of Ireland in this regard.”

Indian citizens in Ireland have been urged to remain vigilant, particularly during late hours and in isolated areas. The embassy has also issued emergency contact numbers for those needing assistance.

The advisory follows a disturbing account shared by Indian-origin entrepreneur Dr. Santosh Yadav on LinkedIn. He alleged he was subjected to an “unprovoked racist” attack by a group of six teenagers near his residence. “They snatched my glasses, breaking them, and then beat me relentlessly across my head, face, neck, chest, hands, and legs—leaving me bleeding on the pavement,” Yadav wrote, adding that his cheekbone was fractured in the assault.

He further alleged a growing wave of violence against minorities in Ireland and tagged the Indian Embassy, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Irish government in his post.

This incident comes shortly after another Indian man was reportedly assaulted and stripped by a group in Dublin. The attackers accused him of inappropriate behaviour around children—a claim later refuted by local police, who found no evidence to support the allegation.

The embassy’s advisory underscores the need for increased caution and community support amid these troubling developments.
