Shaligram Garg, the younger brother of Baba Bageshwar (Dhirendra Krishna Shastri), has been accused in a violent land dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur, with police launching an investigation into the alleged firing and assault.

Chhatarpur: Shaligram Garg, the younger brother of Baba Bageshwar (Dhirendra Krishna Shastri), has landed in fresh controversy after being accused of involvement in a violent clash over a land dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district.
The confrontation allegedly involved gunfire, physical assault and multiple injuries, prompting police to launch an investigation while reviving public attention on Garg's earlier legal controversies.
The incident took place in Kauda village, where a long-running dispute over a piece of land is believed to have escalated into violence between two groups.
Police rushed to the village after receiving information about the clash, rescued the injured and shifted them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials have not yet disclosed the exact number of people injured or the seriousness of their condition.
Several eyewitnesses have claimed that Shaligram Garg and some of his associates were present during the incident and allegedly played a key role in the confrontation. These allegations are currently being examined as part of the police investigation, and authorities have not announced any conclusions.
Following the violence, Chhatarpur police deployed additional personnel to prevent further escalation and secured the area for investigation. A forensic team has also visited the spot to collect evidence, including examining the reported use of firearms and other material relevant to the case.
Senior police officials said statements of the injured, eyewitnesses and other local residents are being recorded to establish the sequence of events. Authorities have maintained that action will be taken strictly on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation.
Not the first controversy
The latest allegations have once again brought Shaligram Garg into the spotlight. He has previously faced police action in separate cases involving allegations of criminal intimidation, physical assault and brandishing weapons.
While those incidents had generated considerable public attention, officials have clarified that the current case is being investigated independently.
No statement from Bageshwar Dham
As the investigation continues, Bageshwar Dham has not issued an official statement regarding the allegations against Garg.
In the past, Baba Bageshwar, whose official name is Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, has publicly stated that any legal proceedings involving his relatives should follow the due process of law and should not be associated with the spiritual institution he heads.
