Thiruvananthapuram: There are growing suspicions surrounding the fire at Trivandrum Scottish School in Thundathil, Chenkottukonam, with school authorities claiming that the fire may have been deliberately set. A complaint of arson has been filed with the police.

The fire broke out around 2:45 am on Monday, engulfing the school premises. Several buses parked on the grounds caught fire, resulting in the total destruction of three buses and partial damage to one. At the time of the incident, only a security guard was on duty at the school. Local residents, who saw the fire, alerted the fire brigade. Units from Kazhaklootam and Chakka quickly responded and were able to extinguish the blaze, preventing what could have been a much larger disaster.

According to school authorities, the fire was deliberately set, and they believe someone may have been responsible for it. Two buses and one Tempo Traveller minibus were completely destroyed. The buses were parked together, while the Tempo Traveller was positioned separately. However, reports suggest that the Tempo Traveller was rammed into the buses before being set on fire.
