Thiruvananthapuram: A major fire broke out on the premises of a school at Chenkottukonam. The blaze occurred at Madhavavilasam School at Thundath in Chenkottukonam. The fire engulfed buses parked inside the school compound. Three school buses were completely gutted, while another was partially damaged.

The fire broke out at around 2.45 am. Residents of nearby houses, who noticed the flames, alerted the Fireforce and Rescue Services. Firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
