Nilambur: MLA PV Anvar has once again criticised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, this time over the latter's alleged remarks concerning Malappuram in an interview reportedly facilitated by a PR agency on behalf of the Chief Minister.
Anvar claimed the Chief Minister's justification – that the statements were fabricated by a PR agency – is untrue. He stated that if the newspaper had misreported the interview, the Chief Minister's office should have responded immediately, rather than waiting for 32 hours amidst rising controversy and protests.

Anvar suggested that the Chief Minister should consider resigning, asserting that the people of Kerala have recognised the truth, regardless of how many justifications the Chief Minister provides. "Not even a hundred Mohammed Riyases (the CM's son-in-law and minister) can justify the CM," said Anvar. He pointed out that the Chief Minister has recently begun using Karipur and Kozhikode airports in response to backlash over earlier press conferences.
Anvar's fresh charges against CM
Anvar accused the Chief Minister of attempting to portray Malappuram, a Muslim-majority district, as a hub for traitors to gain attention from RSS and BJP circles. He called on The Hindu newspaper to release a recording of the interview. "It is part of a larger conspiracy. There are influential figures within the Chief Minister’s office who could render it... They held deliberations with RSS leaders and then gave the interview," he alleged.
It may be noted that these fresh allegations come at a time when Anvar has severed ties with the ruling CPM. He has been attacking the state government and Chief Minister with a particular focus on the affairs of the Home Department and the CM's political secretary. The CM has also dismissed Anvar's allegations and criticised him.
