According to reports, a sorcerer had convinced Chenthamara that a woman with long hair was the cause of his family disputes

Palakkad: Even a year after the Nenmara double murder, the protection and assistance promised by the government remain unfulfilled, according to the family of Sudhakaran.
Sudhakaran’s family stated that the government’s promises, including a job for his sister Athulya and financial assistance, have not been fulfilled. They are currently staying with relatives and have also demanded the death penalty for the accused, Chenthamara. The family added that several residents have moved out of the area due to fear of the accused. Meanwhile, even after a year, the trial of the double murder case has yet to begin, with sources indicating it is now scheduled for 25 February.

The double murder
The double murder that shook the region occurred in Pothundi in January 2025. Chenthamara hacked to death Sudhakaran, his neighbour, and Sudhakaran’s mother, Lakshmi. In 2019, Chenthamara had killed Sudhakaran’s wife, Sajitha, by slitting her throat.
