Two women were killed and a man injured in a knife attack allegedly carried out by a relative in Hyderabad's Meerpet area.

Hyderabad: A family dispute turned deadly in Hyderabad on Wednesday after two women were allegedly stabbed to death by a relative in the Meerpet area. Another family member sustained injuries in the attack, while the accused fled the scene and remains at large.
The incident took place between 4 pm and 5 pm, when the suspect, identified as Siddiqui, allegedly attacked his in-laws' family with a knife.
The victims were identified as his mother-in-law, Niranjan B, and Reshma, the wife of his brother-in-law, Yusuf. Both women died on the spot.
Yusuf was also injured while attempting to save the victims and was subsequently shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad) B Rajesh said preliminary findings indicated that the attack stemmed from family-related issues. Police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
In a disturbing development, the two women had reportedly approached Meerpet police earlier on Wednesday, expressing fears for their lives and seeking protection from Siddiqui. They subsequently returned home.
According to reports, an argument broke out when the suspect arrived at the residence, following which he allegedly launched the knife attack.
Siddiqui reportedly escaped after the assault. Meerpet police have registered a case and formed special teams to trace and arrest him.
The bodies have been shifted to the mortuary for postmortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
