Palakkad, Kerala: The Additional District and Sessions Court-IV on Tuesday convicted Chenthamara in the murder of Sajitha at Nenmara.

The verdict was pronounced by Additional District Judge Kenneth George. The court is scheduled to announce the quantum of punishment on Thursday.

Chenthamara is also accused of killing Sajitha’s husband, Sudhakaran (56), and her mother, Lakshmi (78), while out on bail in the 2019 murder case.

When asked by the court if he had anything to say, Chenthamara replied that he had nothing to say.

Chenthamara stabbed and killed Sajitha on August 31, 2019. He committed the murder, believing that Sajitha was the reason for his wife leaving him.

He had blamed Sajitha for casting a spell on him. Despite being released on bail, Chenthamara violated the conditions by returning to Pothundy, where he killed Sudhakaran and Lakshmi.

The police had requested that Chenthamara be prohibited from entering the Nenmara police station area, but the court only restricted him from entering the Nenmara Grama Panchayat. On December 29th, he returned home, violating the court's order.
