Kochi: A KSRTC bus driver was assaulted in Tripunithura, Ernakulam, for asking a car owner to move a vehicle parked near a bus stop. PI Subair from the Ernakulam Bus Depot was attacked while on duty.
The incident happened when Subair was driving the bus from Ernakulam to Kattappana. Reports suggest that trouble started when the KSRTC driver asked the owner of an Innova car parked near a bus stop to move the vehicle.
The bus was unable to continue its journey after the car blocked the road. The passengers in the car allegedly verbally abused Subair and physically assaulted him after forcibly opening the door of the bus.
Subair sustained injuries to his hand and head during the altercation. He is currently receiving treatment at Tripunithura Hospital. Following Subair's complaint, Tripunithura Hill Palace police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
