“After receiving the Notice, I have given VAKALAT to Shri Noble Mathew, Advocate, Ernakulam Kerala to file a Criminal Miscellaneous case in the High Court of Kerala to quash the FIR and discharge me in the above case. The Advocate has filed criminal MC in this regard recently. I am on Medical Leave and taking Ayurveda treatment. I have not seen the copy of the Criminal Miscellaneous case filed by the Advocate so far,” read the letter.
“In view of this, I have given instructions to Advocate Shri Noble Mathew and also given a letter to withdraw the Criminal Miscellaneous case No. 5871/ 2023 which is filed in High Court of Kerala in this regard,” Lakshman wrote.
Earlier on Saturday, G Lakshman, who is the third accused in the Monson Mavunkal-linked antique fraud case, had moved the high court seeking to quash an FIR registered against him, and levelled serious allegations against the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) terming it as an “extraordinary constitutional authority."
He claimed that there was an extraordinary constitutional authority functioning in the CMO who deals with compromising, mediating and arbitrating some of the financial dealings in Kerala.
“Even the disputes sent by the Hon'ble court to various arbitrators were resolved by that authority. That invisible hands and extra constitutional brain is operating behind the curtain and commanding the 2nd respondent (investigating officer in Monson Mavunkal case) for doing this kind of illegal activities," the plea said.
IG Lakshman is an accused in various offences punishable under sections 468 (forgery) and 420 (cheating) among other provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Advocate Noble Mathew, a BJP leader, is also the national vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Minority Morcha.
