New Delhi: The Northern Railway division of Indian Railways has unveiled a schedule of 21 special trains across premium, superfast, and long-haul categories to meet the increased demand for travel during the year-end season.

The move aims to reduce crowding on heavily used corridors connecting Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Among the special services is the Vande Bharat Express operating between New Delhi and the Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Terminal in Jammu Tawi. Other premium, superfast, and reserved trains have been scheduled on routes including New Delhi–Mumbai Central, New Delhi–Howrah, Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Sabarmati, Patna–Anand Vihar Terminal, Darbhanga–Anand Vihar Terminal, and Mumbai Central–Shakur Basti. East Central Railway suspends select trains

While Northern Railway expands services, the East Central Railway (ECR) has implemented a winter-readiness plan due to dense fog expected from December 2025 to March 2026.

As part of this plan, 24 long-distance trains have been temporarily suspended, including Prayagraj–Muzaffarpur Express, Dehradun–Howrah Upasana Express, Malda Town–New Delhi Express, and Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Express. The suspension affects routes linking Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, West Bengal, and the National Capital Region to ensure operational safety during the foggy season.

Passengers are advised to check the updated train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.
