Rajpal Yadav walked out of Tihar Jail after the Delhi High Court granted interim suspension of his sentence.

Actor Rajpal Yadav walked out of Tihar Jail on Tuesday evening after the Delhi High Court granted him interim relief in a series of cheque-bounce cases. His release came shortly before 5 pm, once all legal procedures were completed, following his deposit of ₹1.5 crore with the complainant.
The court’s order temporarily suspends his six-month sentence, offering a brief reprieve in the long-running legal matter.
Court grants interim suspension of sentence
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma approved the temporary suspension after confirming the payment made to Murali Projects Pvt Ltd, the complainant in the case.
“We are granting you an interim suspension of sentence... It is till the next date of hearing,” the court said, directing him to surrender his passport and barring him from leaving India without prior approval.
The actor has been instructed to remain present – physically or virtually – at the next hearing scheduled for 18 March. He had sought relief citing a family wedding on 19 February.
Actor expresses gratitude, says he has always complied with the law
Speaking to reporters outside the jail gates, Yadav said he was humbled by the support he received throughout the ordeal.
“I will complete 30 years in Bollywood in Mumbai in 2027. Everyone has been with me. That is why I could do 200-250 films,” he said, adding that he has always followed the directions of the high court and would continue to do so.
He stressed that he remained available to face any inquiries, “People from all over the country, children, old and young, are with me... The way the entire country and the world, my Bollywood, has loved me, if there are any allegations against me, I am available to answer.”
For specific legal queries, he urged, “If anyone wanted legal details, they could speak to my advocate.”
