The disruptions were due to IndiGo's operational issues, including crew shortages. The airline expects full normalcy by mid-December, with DGCA relaxations aiding the recovery.

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has issued a passenger advisory stating that IndiGo flight operations are now “steadily resuming and getting back to normalcy” after a brief disruption. The airport has urged travellers to verify the status of their IndiGo bookings before leaving home to avoid further inconvenience.
According to the advisory, passengers flying on IndiGo should check their flight details through official channels and confirm departure timings in advance. For those booked on other airlines, Delhi airport has asked flyers to use the real-time flight status facility on its website, newdelhiairport.in, or contact the respective carrier’s customer support.

The chaos stemmed from IndiGo's operational issues, including crew shortages and Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), leading to over 1,000 cancellations on December 5 alone, with all domestic departures from Delhi halted until midnight. IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers apologised, noting December 5 as the worst day and projecting full normalcy between December 10-15, aided by DGCA relaxations on FDTL norms.
