Speaking on the days-long cancellation crisis, Elbers said 5 December was the “most severely impacted day”, with well over 1,000 flights cancelled

New Delhi: IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers on Friday acknowledged the scale of the ongoing flight disruptions and said the airline is working on a structured recovery plan, cautioning that it will take several more days before operations fully stabilise.
Speaking on the days-long cancellation crisis, Elbers said 5 December was the “most severely impacted day”, with well over 1,000 flights cancelled, and apologised to passengers for the widespread inconvenience.
“It will take some time to return to a full normal situation, which we do anticipate between 10–15 December,” he said, adding that recent relief granted in the implementation of the revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) rules “is a great help”.
Elbers outlined IndiGo’s immediate recovery plan, structured around three key actions:

Three-point plan
1. Customer communication and addressing needs of the passengers with information, refunds, cancellations etc.
2. All passengers who were stranded to be put into flights by today. We also asked customers whose flights are cancelled to not come to airport as notifications are sent.
3. Cancellations were made for today as to align our crew and planes to be where they need to start afresh tomorrow morning.
