The airline cited a surge in daily cancellations, leading to passenger frustration due to stranding and poor communication.

New Delhi: IndiGo issued a "heartfelt apology" to customers and industry stakeholders on Thursday following widespread disruptions across its network over the past two days, vowing to streamline operations swiftly.
The airline reported a surge in cancellations, reaching 170-200 flights daily, far above normal levels, prompting passenger frustration at multiple airports due to stranding, poor communication, and limited alternatives.
"We extend a heartfelt apology to all our customers and industry stakeholders who have been impacted by these events. IndiGo teams are working diligently and making all efforts with the support of MOCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI and airport operators to reduce the cascading impact of these delays and restore normalcy," IndiGo stated on X.
The carrier urged passengers to monitor updates via its flight status page, noting, "We continue to keep our customers apprised of any changes to their scheduled flights and advise them to check the latest status at https://goindigo.in/check-flight-status.html." IndiGo "deeply regrets the inconvenience caused and remains focused on streamlining its operations at the earliest."
At Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, IndiGo axed 150 flights on Thursday, including 75 domestic and international departures and arrivals, exacerbating chaos.
India's largest airline, operating over 400 aircraft on 2,300+ daily flights to 90+ domestic and 45+ international destinations, added 58 planes in 2024 and carried 118 million passengers in FY25. It recently won 'Best Airline in India and South Asia' at the 2025 Skytrax Awards.
