IndiGo’s cancellations at Hyderabad airport stretched into a fifth day on December 7, pushing the total number of disrupted flights to 519 and leaving passengers anxious about upcoming travel.

Flight cancellations at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) continued for the fifth straight day on Sunday, December 7, 2025, with 115 IndiGo services suspended. The disruptions included 61 departures and 54 arrivals, further deepening the operational crisis that began on December 3.
With Sunday’s cancellations added, the total number of IndiGo flights grounded between December 3 and 7 has climbed to 519, leaving thousands of passengers uncertain about their travel plans despite the airline’s assurances of gradual stabilisation.
IndiGo Cancellations at RGIA (Dec 3–7):
- December 3: 31
- December 4: 74
- December 5: 155
- December 6: 144
- December 7: 115
The sustained turbulence triggered growing anxiety among travellers. A Sabarimala pilgrim group expressed distress over the uncertainty surrounding their journey.
“We are a group of nine pilgrims, including two kids, travelling to Sabarimala today with our Irumudi. Kindly ensure our IndiGo flight 6E950 from Hyderabad to Cochin at 3.55 p.m. is not cancelled as it would severely impact our pilgrimage,” said Vamsi Kancharla, urging the airline for support.
A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel scheduled to fly on December 12 appealed for transparency from the airline.
“IndiGo management should publish a list of flights going to be cancelled in the next coming days so that passengers like me can make alternative arrangements. I have booked a Patna–Hyderabad flight and am still afraid whether I will be able to board the flight and join my duty,” he said.
In a statement issued on Saturday (December 6), IndiGo said it had cut down operations to stabilise its system.
“Addressing the recent disruptions in our network, we had cancelled a significant number of flights and operated a little above 700 flights yesterday across 113 destinations.
The main objective was to reboot the network, systems, and rosters so that we could start afresh today with a higher number of flights and improved stability, and there are some early signs of improvement,” the airline said.
Despite these assurances, the uncertainty persists, with travellers hoping the airline’s efforts will translate into tangible relief in the coming days.
