An IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi had to turn back shortly after take-off on Tuesday after one of its engines developed a technical problem, triggering an emergency response at the airport.

Flight 6E2102, which departed from Manohar International Airport in Goa for Delhi, encountered the engine issue during its journey. The crew subsequently declared an emergency and the aircraft was diverted back to Goa.

The aircraft landed safely at Manohar International Airport, bringing the situation under control. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The flight had been scheduled to reach Delhi at 11.45am. According to preliminary information, the aircraft took off from Goa at around 9.10 am before the emergency was declared.

The exact nature of the engine malfunction and the number of passengers on board have not yet been disclosed. An official statement from IndiGo on the incident is awaited.
