The easiest way to check is through the national Voters’ Service Portal at electoralsearch.eci.gov.in. Users can search using their EPIC number, personal details or registered mobile number.
If searching by EPIC number, select Tamil Nadu as the state, enter the voter ID number and captcha code to view registration details. If the name is included in the final roll, polling station information, part number and serial number will be displayed.
Another option is to download the district-wise electoral roll PDF from the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu website. Select the district, constituency and polling booth to manually search for names.
Mobile users can install the Voter Helpline App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store and use the “Search Your Name in Electoral Roll” feature.
Alternatively, SMS service is available. Send “ECI EPIC number” to 1950 to receive voter status confirmation.
If a voter’s name is missing despite holding a voter ID card, they can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6 through the official portal before election processes begin.
The final voter list published after the Tamil Nadu Special Intensive Revision 2026 reflects major updates in electoral registration. Authorities added more than 27.5 lakh new voters during the claims and objections period between December 2025 and January 2026.
The total electorate in Tamil Nadu now stands at about 5.67 crore, including male, female and third gender voters.
The revision exercise aimed to remove duplicate entries, address migration cases and delete names of deceased voters. Approximately 8% of entries were reportedly removed across several states and union territories during similar revision exercises.
District-wise data shows significant voter distribution. For example, Chennai district recorded over 28 lakh voters, while districts such as Madurai, Salem and Tiruvallur each reported electorates ranging from around 24 lakh to 27 lakh.
Election officials have advised voters to check their names immediately, especially if they have recently changed residence or applied for new registration.
Public inspection of electoral rolls is also available at zonal corporation offices, polling stations and taluk offices.
Information is based on official electoral roll publication data. Voters are advised to verify status through government websites or helplines.
