New Delhi: Delhi’s environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Monday said that the government is intensifying enforcement under GRAP Stage IV, with additional restrictions including work‑from‑home measures.

Speaking at a press conference, Sirsa noted that reports had emerged of private companies failing to comply with the advisory. He urged firms to strictly follow the guidelines, warning that any complaints naming violators would prompt immediate action.

The Minister confirmed that deputy commissioners of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, together with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, had begun sealing unauthorised industries across the capital. He added that from Monday onwards, polluting units would also face closure as part of a city‑wide crackdown.

The national capital remained shrouded in thick smog on Monday, with air quality at ‘very poor’ levels. Visibility was severely reduced, disrupting daily life across the city. At 7:05 a.m., Delhi’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 366, placing it firmly in the ‘very poor’ category.
