Bengaluru: Kannada actor Darshan, who is out on medical bail in the fan murder case, has not followed the conditions set by the court when he was granted bail, the Karnataka High Court was informed on Thursday. The submission regarding the same was made by Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna Kumar during a hearing related to Darshan's petition seeking regular bail in the high-profile case.

Failure to submit medical report

Prasanna Kumar also pointed out that Darshan had not submitted his latest medical report to the court. The actor was granted bail for six weeks on medical grounds, but there has been no update regarding his surgery date yet.

In response, Darshan's lawyer, C. V. Nagesh presented the actor’s latest medical report to the court. The report was also shared with the Special Public Prosecutor.

Additional charge sheet filed

Meanwhile, the police filed an additional charge sheet in the case. The court has asked the Special Public Prosecutor to review the medical report and provide his response. The matter has been adjourned to November 26.

Darshan was released from jail on October 30 after spending 131 days in jail. He is currently receiving treatment for severe back pain at BGS Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru. However, according to sources, the actor has not undergone surgery yet.

The police are preparing to challenge Darshan's medical bail in the Supreme Court.

The fan murder case

Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were arrested on June 11 in connection with the kidnapping and brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga. Renukaswamy allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, upset over the actor’s relationship with her despite being married.

Darshan had been moved to Ballari Prison after photos surfaced showing him receiving ‘royal treatment’ at Bengaluru Central Prison. He faces three FIRs related to this matter.

The police submitted a 3,991-page charge sheet in the fan murder case on September 4.
