Delhi High Court grants activist Umar Khalid a three-day interim bail from June 1 to June 3 for his mother's upcoming surgery.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday granted a three-day interim bail to activist and former JNU student leader Umar Khalid from June 1 to June 3.
The relief was granted by a bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Madhu Jain to allow Khalid to assist his mother, who is scheduled to undergo a lump excision surgery.
Khalid, who has been in custody since September 2020 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots larger conspiracy case, had approached the High Court after a trial court rejected his 15-day interim bail plea on May 19.
