Congress is contesting 61 seats as part of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) alongside the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Patna: The Congress party, which has struggled in Bihar in recent years, appears set for another disappointing result in the state’s ongoing election. Voting in Bihar took place in two phases, on November 6 and November 11, and early trends suggest that Congress is unlikely to make any significant gains.
In the current election, Congress is contesting 61 seats as part of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) alongside the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). However, early results indicate that Congress is only leading in 11 seats, which is eight fewer than the number it won in the previous election.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD is showing a stronger performance, leading in 58 out of 143 seats. The CPI(ML) Liberation is also making headway, leading in 3 out of 20 seats, while the CPI has claimed one of the nine seats it is contesting.
The Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), which is fighting for 12 seats, is leading in just one. The smaller left-wing parties — the India Inclusive Party (IIP) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), contesting three and four seats respectively, have yet to show any significant leads.
The early trends point to a disappointing outcome for Congress, with the party continuing to struggle in Bihar’s complex political landscape.
