Kalpetta, Wayanad: Despite a life-changing accident that left him confined to a wheelchair, Swaroop has never let his circumstances define his limits. Through sheer determination and resilience, he not only overcame the challenges of his physical condition but also achieved remarkable feats, including conquering the Himalayas with an artificial leg.

For the past three years, Swaroop has been a key player for the Kerala wheelchair cricket team. His exceptional performance in the state-level tournament between Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra in January earned him a spot in the Indian wheelchair cricket team. Following his success, Swaroop recently helped Kerala secure victory in the tournament in Coimbatore, which involved teams from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Next, Swaroop is set to represent India in the ‘Friends Cup’ series against Nepal, which begins on February 23 in Uttarakhand. As the captain of the Kerala team, Swaroop’s leadership and skills have paved the way for his inclusion in the national team.

Swaroop’s mother, Vasantha, shares that his journey to success was driven by his courage, as well as the unwavering support of his family, friends, and the community. Swaroop’s cricket training is made possible by the facilities provided by the Ability Foundation in Pulikkal, Malappuram.
