Historic marriage
On 17 November 2021, Poornima and Sandeep’s love story reached its pinnacle as they got married in a ceremony registered at Nileshwar Municipality. The marriage application form, which only had two columns -- male and female -- did not reflect their reality. However, they fought for inclusion and pushed for a column for the third category, symbolising a victory for the transgender community.
Despite people who doubted the longevity of their marriage, Poornima and Sandeep remain together, proud of their journey and love.
