Mumbai police have seized a Lamborghini after a video surfaced showing the luxury car allegedly being driven at 252 kmph on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link
Mumbai: Mumbai police have taken custody of a Lamborghini car after its driver was found allegedly speeding at 252 kilometres per hour on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a stretch where the maximum permitted speed for cars is 80 kmph.
The incident occurred on December 12, and an FIR has been registered after a video of the reckless drive surfaced on social media.

According to police officials, the video was recorded from inside the luxury sports car and shows the speedometer touching 252 kmph while the vehicle was travelling towards the south end of the sea link, overtaking other vehicles on the road. Following the circulation of the video, police analysed CCTV footage from the area to verify the incident.
The investigation revealed that the same car had violated speed limits on multiple occasions in the past and that several traffic challans had already been issued against it. Based on the evidence, the Worli police registered a case against the unidentified driver for rash and negligent driving on a public road under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Police confirmed that the Lamborghini has been seized as part of the investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver responsible for the incident. Authorities reiterated that such extreme speeding poses a serious risk to public safety, especially on high-traffic urban infrastructure like the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
