Shivam Mishra has been arrested in the Kanpur Lamborghini crash case after police cited CCTV evidence showing he was driving the luxury car that rammed into multiple vehicles. Here’s what happened and what the police said.

Kanpur: Police on Thursday arrested Shivam Mishra, son of tobacco businessman K K Mishra, in connection with the high-profile Lamborghini crash on Kanpur’s VIP Road that left multiple people injured earlier this week.
Confirming the development, Kanpur Commissioner of Police Raghubir Lal said the 35-year-old has been taken into custody and will be produced before a court shortly.
“He has been arrested and will be presented before the court within an hour,” the police chief told PTI.
The accident occurred around 3 pm on Sunday in the upscale Gwaltoli area when a Lamborghini Revuelto, a luxury Italian supercar worth over ₹10 crore, allegedly rammed into pedestrians and vehicles, including an e-rickshaw, causing panic on the busy stretch.
One of the injured, 18-year-old e-rickshaw driver Mohd Taufeeq, filed a complaint following the crash. However, the accused’s lawyer later claimed that the complainant was no longer interested in pursuing legal action.
The case took a dramatic turn when a man identified as Mohan surfaced, claiming he was the designated driver and was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. Police, however, dismissed the claim, stating that CCTV footage and investigation findings clearly establish that Shivam Mishra was driving the Lamborghini when the accident occurred.
The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
