A young SWAT commando’s final fight didn’t end on the front lines, it was fought on a terrifying phone call as her husband allegedly confessed to killing her while her screams echoed through the line. Justice, now, is the only demand.

New Delhi: In a chilling turn of events that has stunned the capital and ignited outrage across the country, a young Delhi Police SWAT commando’s last moments were broadcast live over the phone as her husband allegedly attacked and killed her.
On the night of January 22, 27-year-old Kajal Chaudhary, a decorated Special Weapons and Tactics officer, four months pregnant and posted with the elite unit, was at her west Delhi home when a routine domestic dispute spiraled into a brutal assault.

According to her brother, Constable Nikhil, the horror unfolded in real time. Her husband, Ankur Chaudhary, a 28-year-old clerk with the Ministry of Defence, called Nikhil and ordered him to put the call on record, declaring, in cold blood, “I am killing your sister.” Seconds later, Kajal’s agonised screams filled the line before the call abruptly went dead.
Just five minutes later, Ankur rang back to tell the stunned brother: “She’s dead — come to the hospital.”
Police say Kajal suffered catastrophic head trauma and multiple injuries after being struck with a heavy dumbbell and reportedly slammed against a door frame during the attack. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries on January 27 in a Ghaziabad medical facility.
The couple, married in November 2023 and parents to a one-and-a-half-year-old son now in the care of maternal grandparents, had allegedly endured ongoing dowry harassment and persistent financial and household disputes. Friends and family recounted past violence that had once led to an attempted murder charge before the tragic escalation.
The brutal murder of a woman trained to face death itself has sparked widespread shock and condemnation, raising fresh questions about the persistence of domestic violence and dowry abuse even within the ranks of India’s uniformed services.
