Chennai, Tamil Nadu: In a shocking development, the Chennai City Police on Thursday confirmed that a migrant family from Bihar was murdered in Chennai earlier this week.
The case surfaced on Monday morning after the body of Gaurav Kumar (24), with head and facial injuries, was found stuffed in a sack near a two-wheeler showroom.
On Wednesday, Chennai Police searched multiple locations, including the Perungudi dumpyard, Adyar estuary, and the Cooum River banks, to locate the missing bodies.
The officials recovered the 2-year-old son's body near the Cooum River at Madhya Kailash, south Chennai. Efforts continue to locate the woman's body.
Five workers from Bihar, including Sikandar (33), Narender Kumar (45), Rabindranath Tagore (45), Bikas (24), and another, have been arrested. Police suspect the crime was committed by individuals known to the victim.
