The suspects reportedly opened fire on officers attempting to arrest them, prompting police to return fire, targeting their legs.

New Delhi: Three men wanted in connection with a recent homicide were captured by Delhi Police early Wednesday following a high-stakes shootout in North Delhi’s Rohini neighbourhood, officials said.
The suspects, who were being sought for a murder in the Shastri Park area, were intercepted by the Crime Branch in Rohini Sector 28. Acting on a localised tip-off, investigators established a perimeter to ambush the fugitives.
According to police reports, the encounter began when officers ordered the suspects to surrender. The men reportedly defied the orders and opened fire on the Crime Branch team, triggering a brief but intense exchange of gunfire.
Strategic Response
To prevent the suspects from fleeing and to neutralise the threat, officers returned fire, specifically targeting the suspects' legs. All three men sustained gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Investigation and Context
The identities of the suspects have not yet been released as the investigation remains active. Authorities confirmed that the trio is currently in stable condition under police guard at the hospital and will face additional charges related to the attempted assault on police officers.
