Varanasi’s Ganjari Cricket Stadium nears completion with Lord Shiva-inspired architecture, world-class facilities and 30,000 seats.
The Ganjari Cricket Stadium in Varanasi is emerging as one of India’s most unique sporting landmarks, combining modern cricket infrastructure with the spiritual identity of Kashi. Inspired by Lord Shiva, the stadium’s architecture incorporates symbolic elements, including trishul-shaped floodlights, a damru-themed commentary box, crescent motifs and bel patra-inspired design features.
According to project officials, the concept was developed by architects working with the EPC contractor L&T–ADRC to reflect Varanasi’s cultural heritage through contemporary stadium design.
