Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Hazira manufacturing facility of Larsen & Toubro in Surat, Gujarat, on Friday, highlighting India's growing industrial and defense capabilities. During his visit to the AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex, the prime minister reviewed ongoing manufacturing operations and major infrastructure projects.

Company officials briefed PM Modi on the indigenous Zorawar light tank and other defence systems being produced at the facility. Developed jointly by Defence Research and Development Organisation and L&T Defense, the 25-tonne air-transportable tank is designed for rapid deployment, particularly along India's frontier regions.
The visit was part of the Prime Minister's day-long tour of Gujarat and Daman, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth around ₹22,000 crore. Key initiatives included infrastructure projects in road, power, and industrial sectors; a 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat; and the inauguration of the new terminal building at NAMO Airport and NAMO Hospital in Daman.
