Lucknow's UP Mango Festival 2026 showcased 800 mango varieties, boosted exports and created new opportunities for farmers and food processing.
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2026 showcased the state's rich mango heritage with around 800 varieties on display in Lucknow. Organised under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the festival aimed to boost farmers' incomes, promote new mango varieties and strengthen Uttar Pradesh's position in the global mango market. Mangoes from the state are already exported to more than 30 countries, and the government is working to improve the entire value chain from production to exports. Traditional favourites such as Dussehri, Langra, Chausa, Rataul, Lucknow Safeda and Amrapali were displayed alongside innovative mango-based products, including ice cream, panna, jalebi, halwa and rasgulla.
The festival witnessed record participation, with 1,501 exhibitors presenting 3,032 mango samples, around six per cent higher than last year. Officials and growers said the event is helping farmers adopt new varieties, secure better prices and access international markets, while promoting horticulture, food processing and sustainable agricultural growth in Uttar Pradesh.
