The inspiring reason a Kerala village spent ₹2 lakh to restore its post office
Pushpakandam villagers in Kerala rebuilt their post office through community effort, restoring postal services, banking access, and PIN code 685552.
A village in Kerala's Idukki district has proved that a PIN code is more than just a postal number—it's a symbol of identity. Pushpakandam residents have rebuilt their post office through collective effort, bringing back essential postal and banking services along with PIN code 685552.
The post office had been shifted to a neighbouring village in December after the old building became unsafe and postal transactions declined. Determined to restore the facility, villagers formed a people's committee, raised nearly ₹2 lakh, and volunteered their labour to construct a new building.
