Guinness World Record holder from Kerala creates unique wooden slate wedding invitation
Kozhikode’s Guinness record holder creates a unique wooden slate wedding invitation for his son, bringing back nostalgic school memories.
In a unique blend of tradition and creativity, Kozhikode’s Guinness World Record holder M K Latheef has designed an extraordinary wedding invitation for his son’s wedding using a wooden slate concept inspired by old-school classroom memories. Latheef, who received Guinness World Records recognition in 2024 for the largest collection of wedding invitation cards, wanted something unforgettable for the family celebration.
While searching for ideas, he discovered the concept during a visit to Rajasthan and transformed it into a handcrafted invitation.

Latheef says that in today’s digital era, where wedding invitations are mostly shared through WhatsApp, Facebook and social media, he wanted to honour traditional invitation methods. The invitation weighs around 800 grams and took nearly two months to complete, including sourcing materials and printing.
