Ayodhya, one of India’s most prominent pilgrimage destinations, has established a dedicated Tourist Assistance Centre to better manage the steadily increasing number of devotees visiting the temple town.

Officials said the new facility has been set up in Ayodhya in response to the surge in pilgrim arrivals for darshan at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, which has seen unprecedented footfall in recent years.

The Tourist Assistance Centre will function as a one-stop help desk for pilgrims, offering guidance on movement routes, temple timings, accommodation options, civic facilities, and major religious and cultural attractions in and around the town. Authorities say the initiative is aimed at ensuring a smooth, safe and hassle-free pilgrimage experience.

According to the local administration, the sharp rise in tourist numbers has necessitated continuous upgrades to infrastructure, improved civic amenities, and stronger on-ground support systems to manage crowd flow effectively.

The centre has been established at Naya Ghat, a key entry point for pilgrims, and is expected to play a crucial role in streamlining visitor movement and addressing queries in real time.
