Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, sources said on Wednesday, as the Ram Temple trust moves ahead with a major administrative overhaul.

Mishra, a former senior Indian Air Force officer, has been chosen for the newly created top executive position, according to sources familiar with the development.

His appointment comes at a crucial time for the trust, which has been restructuring its administration following allegations of financial irregularities involving temple donations.

The Trust had earlier constituted a three-member screening committee to select its new CEO. The panel comprised a retired Supreme Court judge, a retired Lieutenant General and a former Shirdi temple trust official.

The committee subsequently shortlisted three candidates and submitted their names to the Trust in a sealed communication.
