Johnson Wen, 26, was ejected from Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Tuesday night before Lady Gaga’s performance began.

Wen, who has a history of disrupting concerts and celebrity appearances, was jailed for nine days in Singapore last month after grabbing Ariana Grande during the Asian premiere of Wicked: For Good. He was subsequently deported from Singapore.

Although Wen had not caused any disruption at the Lady Gaga concert, security removed him due to his known history of public nuisance. Videos shared on social media showed security personnel escorting him out of the venue as parts of the audience both cheered and booed.

The venue told the Sydney Morning Herald that it had been alerted to the possible presence of a “known serial offender” and, in the interest of the artist’s safety, he was not allowed to attend. Lady Gaga is currently midway through her Mayhem World Tour in Australia.

Wen has previously disrupted events by other international stars, including Katy Perry and The Weeknd. The incident with Grande in Singapore drew widespread criticism, with the judge describing his actions as “attention-seeking” and a risk to the safety of others. Following the Grande incident, Wen was banned from Singapore.

Ariana Grande has previously spoken about experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder following the 2017 Manchester concert bombing, which killed 22 people and injured hundreds. Fans have condemned Wen’s actions for “re-traumatising” the singer.
