Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam actor Lissy and her actor friends have made a contribution of Rs 1 Crore to aid the landslide disaster victims in Chooralmala, Wayanad. Lissy, along with Khushboo, Meena, and Suhasini, personally handed over the check to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Actor Rajkumar Sethupathi was also present during the function.

“A few of us from Chennai with the support of family & friends contributed a sum of one crore rupees for the Wayanad distress relief. We met the honourable C M of Kerala Sri Pinarayi Vijayan and personally handed over the cheque. We thank Rajkumar Sethupathy, Suhasini Maniratnam, Sripriya, ManiRatnam, Kushboo Sundar, Meena Saagar, G Square, Kalyani Priyadarsan, Komalam Charuhasan, Lissy Lakshmi, Maijo George, Shobana, Rahman, Champion woman for their generosity . Our prayers are with the people of Wayanad!!!” Lissy wrote on Instagram.

Earlier, Telugu superstar Prabhas had donated Rs 2 crore to the CMDRF. Allu Arjun donated Rs 25 lakhs. Actors like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Pearle Maaney and Sreenish had also donated to the relief fund. Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan donated Rs 35 lakh to the relief fund. 

Karthi, Suriya and Jyothika had donated Rs 50 lakh to the CMDRF. Actors Kamal Haasan and Vikram paid Rs 20 lakh and Rashmika Mandana Rs 10 lakh. Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya contributed Rs 25 lakhs.

Actor Nayanthara and her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, also made a notable contribution of Rs 20 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Malayalam actors Manju Warrier and Navya Nair have also chipped in with significant contributions.

Director Amal Neerad’s production company has pledged Rs 10 lakh, and the Viswasanthi Foundation, named after Mohanlal’s parents, has announced a donation of Rs 3 crore. Mohanlal, who visited the disaster site, informed the media that the destroyed school will be rebuilt by the foundation.
