“It is a guest role, but an important one. There is a pivotal scene with Thalapathy and a couple of other sequences as well,” the actor reflected on his role in the Vijay starrer.

Talking to Untitled Podcast (CUE Studio), actor Narain, currently basking in the thumping success of Eko, revealed key information on Vijay’s Jana Nayagan—touted to be Thalapathy’s last film—before he plunges into full-time politics.
Talking about his role in Jana Nayagan, Narain said, “It is a guest role, but an important one. There is a pivotal scene with Thalapathy and a couple of other sequences as well.”
Reflecting on the shoot days of Jana Nayagan, Narain confessed that he was well and truly aware he was sharing screen space with one of India’s biggest stars at the moment, and that it potentially being his last film made the occasion even more significant.
Drawing a comparison between Thalaivar and Thalapathy, Narain observed, “Just like Rajini sir, Vijay is always simple and humble.”
In the engaging conversation, Narain, who made his debut in the Malayalam film industry, also recalled his first collaboration with Vijay—for an advertisement while Narain was assisting Rajeev Menon.
The actor observed that Thalapathy has delivered a great performance in Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth. Apart from Vijay, the film features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Mamitha Baiju.
While Narain treasures the moments he spent with Vijay while filming Jana Nayagan, unverified sources also claim cameo appearances by Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj in the magnum opus, which is set for a Pongal 2026 release. (With inputs from Agencies)
