Star composer Thaman S, in a conversation with Suman TV Times, offered some sharp observations on various film industries, drawing from his years of experience in cinema.

Thaman, currently basking in the success of his tracks in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2, spoke about opportunities, competition, and other facets of leading the life of an ambitious music composer.

In what could be considered a candid revelation likely to spark conversation, Thaman stated in the interview that while composers such as Anirudh are finding opportunities in Tollywood, people like him struggle to land projects in Kollywood. By this, he seems to mean that the Telugu industry is more “democratic.”

Meanwhile, unfazed by competition, Thaman also hinted at his camaraderie with fellow industry figures such as GV Prakash and Jakes Bejoy.

In a sharper critique, Thaman added that composers who often earn much more in Telugu cinema compared to their home markets mostly work for financial gain rather than out of admiration for Telugu cinema.

Thaman’s comments have now gone viral, with cinephiles diving into discussions and sharing a wide range of opinions. (With inputs from Agencies)
