Mammootty is turning heads with his first look from the upcoming Tamil action thriller ‘Om’, and the makers appear to have saved a striking glimpse for the veteran actor’s 75th birthday celebrations.

The film’s first look introduces Mammootty as “Burma” Karthikeyan, also described as Siya’s entry, giving fans an early peek at what looks like a stylish and commanding character. The promo leans heavily into Mammootty’s trademark screen presence, with the actor sporting a confident, swagger-filled look.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, ‘Om’ features an ensemble cast led by Dhanush, alongside Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Naseeruddin Shah and Indrans.

The project was initially announced in November 2024 under the tentative title ‘D55’, marking Dhanush’s 55th film as a lead actor. The film is produced by Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios.

Principal photography began in February 2026, while the official title ‘Om’ was unveiled in June. The film has music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K and editing by R. Kalaivanan.

With Mammootty’s ‘Burma’ Karthikeyan first look already generating attention, the actor’s character is shaping up to be one of the major talking points ahead of the film’s theatrical release.

‘Om’ is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, 2026.

The actor's production company shared a poster of the megastar's latest film, which is being projected as 'Mammootty's Mela', on the occasion.

As he turned 75, fans, industry colleagues and politicians greeted him with warm wishes.

Chief Minister VD Satheesan extended birthday wishes to the megastar, terming him the pride of Malayalam cinema.

In a post on social media platform 'X', the CM said that Mammootty's five-decade-long acting journey has created wonders on the silver screen and was "an eternal inspiration to Indian cinema itself".
