With just days left before its release, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, is witnessing unprecedented advance ticket sales. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, with paid preview shows beginning on March 18.

The sequel has already registered the biggest premiere earnings for an Indian film, collecting ₹32.44 crore from preview shows in India alone. The previous record was held by OG, starring Pawan Kalyan, which earned ₹25 crore during its premiere.

Trade estimates suggest that preview collections could cross ₹40 crore before the film officially opens in cinemas.

Massive ticket sales across India

Advance bookings for regular shows began over the weekend and quickly gathered momentum. The film has already grossed ₹14.66 crore in opening-day pre-sales and sold nearly 10 lakh tickets across preview and first-day shows.

Industry insiders estimate that the domestic advance booking for the opening weekend has already crossed ₹60 crore, signalling a potentially massive opening at the box office.

Overseas market breaks historic records

The film’s performance overseas has been equally strong. In North America, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Indian film to cross $5 million in advance bookings, surpassing previous presale records set by Pathaan, RRR, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, all of which had crossed the $4 million mark in the region.

Globally, the film has already earned more than $6 million in advance bookings, pushing its worldwide presales total to around ₹120 crore.

Trade analysts believe the figure could rise significantly in the final days before release, potentially crossing ₹150 crore or even approaching ₹200 crore worldwide.

Star-studded cast returns

Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features a strong ensemble cast including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

Reports also suggest that Akshaye Khanna, who played the antagonist Rehman Dakait in the first film, may appear in a cameo in the sequel.

The first Dhurandhar, released in December, reportedly earned around ₹1,300 crore worldwide and continues to run in theatres.

With its massive advance bookings and strong global buzz, industry observers believe the sequel could challenge the long-standing box office record of Dangal, which has remained the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide for nearly a decade.
